So you heard about Cloud…you heard about the potentials…you
heard about all its benefits and its perils …now you have decided to make a
leap and migrate to Cloud…but how? The current manuscript attempts to guide to
do so.
I have observed a three-phased migration architecture
pattern to port application to Cloud. The first phase focuses on Cloud presence
where the application is running in Cloud. The second phase involves consuming
most of the pertinent services from Cloud along with moving all supporting
systems (such as CI, and build) of the applications to Cloud; this phase can be
considered an enhancement of the previous phase. The third phase involves fine
tuning the application architect.
Use case scenario: Although the strategy covered should work
in general but I have had firsthand experience in applying towards numerous web
application.
